Victims of crime and persons protected by a Family Relations Act restraining order who have significant safety concerns can register with the Victim Safety Unit (VSU) to receive ongoing notification about the status of an accused person or offender who is supervised by provincial corrections.

The VSU can notify registrants about accused/offender custody (jail) or community (probation, bail) movements or changes. Examples of movements include releases, admissions, transfers (both custody and community) and applications for parole.

VSU provides a full range of notifications during regular business hours and in partnership with VictimLink BC, provides notifications of release from custody in the evenings and on weekends.
